Nvidia's Stake in Nebius, a Bullish SanDisk Call, and Bloom Energy's Power Deal Lift AI Infrastructure Stocks
Chip and AI-infrastructure stocks rallied broadly Tuesday, building on Monday’s bounce, with the S&P 500 and Dow both higher and Asian semiconductor names — Samsung, SK Hynix, TSMC — also surging, according to Yahoo Finance and the Washington Post. Investors are positioning ahead of a heavy week of Big Tech earnings, including Alphabet on Wednesday, with AI capital-expenditure guidance the focus.
Nebius Group (NBIS) was among the session’s biggest movers after Nvidia disclosed a 9.3% passive equity stake in the neocloud provider, per a regulatory filing reported by GuruFocus and Benzinga. The stake builds on Nvidia’s roughly $2 billion investment in Nebius announced in March and reinforces the strategic AI-cloud partnership between the two companies. Separately, Nebius secured a new $775 million debt facility to fund AI-cloud infrastructure expansion. NBIS closed Monday at $182.62, up 2.76% on the day, before today’s stake-driven move.
SanDisk (SNDK) extended a bounce off last week’s sharp selloff after Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore called the pullback a buying opportunity, forecasting memory prices up more than 25% quarter over quarter into Q3 on persistent AI-driven data-center memory shortages, per Benzinga. SanDisk had fallen as much as 24% over five trading days according to the Motley Fool, before closing Monday at $1,390.95, up 2.67% from Friday’s close. SanDisk reports fiscal Q4/full-year 2026 earnings August 5.
The power side of the same trade
Bloom Energy (BE), which closed Monday at $197.06 after an 8.3% decline, was reported higher Tuesday on its own AI-power-demand story: Brookfield’s data-center financing commitment with Bloom grew to $25 billion, and a separate $1.7 billion deal with Industrial Development Funding and Oaktree will deploy Bloom fuel cells to power Nebius’s AI-cloud infrastructure directly, per TradingKey. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission also moved to fast-track grid connections for large data centers, a structural tailwind for Bloom’s on-site power model. Bloom reports Q2 earnings July 28.
